Sivaji Shooting Narration at Ramaiah College

Hi ,

I saw thalaivar today. he is very slim and looking very young.

I went to ramaiah college at 8 today.

waiting to see lord rajini. at 10 a blue innova came. our thalaivar got down and went straight to the caravan. he was wearing round cap. After having his breakfast he came at 10.30.

Around 50 members were gathered there. I shouted thalaiva thaliava for 2 times.

He was waving to the crowd. Suddenly I raised my voice then he suddenly turned his face at me and raised his hand and waved at me.

I felt like god is blessing. i can see the power and feel that.

Without my notice tears were coming out of my eyes.

I am the happiest person in the earth..

He came out with black round neck tshirt and black pant.  wearing chandramukhi cap ( which he wears in the title card while reading the book of chandramukhi in the library)

Then I some how managed to get in. there is tight security.

I went inside at 11. the shooting was in the terrace.

The fight scene between thalaivar and suman was shot.  First they tried with dupe he cannot do well.

So our thalaivar came forward to do the scene by himself.

The scene was thalaivar was air borne with the support of ropes extending his arms like hawk.  from the opposite site fake 500 and 1000 rupees noted were blown.

Thalaivar was airborne and the villian gang cannot even come near him because of the blow.

Thalaivar was wearing the black round neck tshirt and for that scene he was wearing full black leather coat.

He was looking like god when he was air borne.

The shot was finished in 1 shot.  I was whistling.

Soon there was around 500 members in the hospital terrace to see our thalaivar.

After that scene thalaiver was deeply engaged in discussion with suman. After that 3 scenes were taken using the dupe.

Thalaivar started reading a book.  Many vips and politicians came and visited him.

At 12.30 thalaivar again acted , in that thalaivar performed somersault with the help of ropes.

I cannot believe my eyes. every one was shouting and whisting for that scene.

At 1.00 excatly thalaiver came down and went inside the caravan. I was just beside him.

He was very looking and always smiling.

Then every one was having their food. I was just outside the caravan.

One guy was taking the food for our thalaivar.  I spoke to him and given a small book for autograph.

By god's grace i got the autograph from thalaivar.

I was on top of the world.

I even did not imagine that i will see thalaivar and get a autograph from him..

I cannot forget this day.    He was gud looking with the shaved head.

I bet no one in the earth will be more active than our thalaivar at this age.

He is very fast and style comes automatically when he walks and talk.

My aim is to see the thalaivar I have achieved that.  I am the happiest person in the world...........

I will never forget this dec 29th 2006.

Shooting will go on till jan 3rd. But i spoke to the assistant directors they told me that the shooting will be on in ramaiah college only for tomorrow. They have not yet deceided about the other places.

I want to thank arunachalam sir and raja because they have informed and confirmed that the shooting is going on in the college.

Once again I thank arunachalam sir for fulfilling my dream and I have achieved my aim.

Thanks

Ganesh

When will the audio of Sivaji release Hot update

The most awaited film of 2007- Sivaji is nearing completion. With the post-production work going on in full swing, the next biggest question haunting the millions of fans world wide is about the audio launch.

No worries, "Yam erruka bayam aen!!".

Inside sources say that the audio launch of the film is most likely to be held in March 2007.
Sivaji
Director Shankar is calling the shots and doesn't want any kind of leads to be leaked out much before the release of the movie. They want to cash in on the hype that the audio release would create and release the movie within a month of the audio launch. Moreover, Shankar and Rahman are putting their hearts into the background score out of which one or two tracks might also be included in the album.

AVM is also contemplating of releasing the audio under their banner. Since they already have an audio label in their name, the process becomes easier. Added to that, there is a precedence of a great musical victory of Shankar-Rahman combination in 'Boys' few years back. This factor is also said to tilt the balance in their favor. The possibility of handing over the entire rights package for audio, film, overseas and satellite to one single company is also not ruled out.

Vairamuthu Show in Muscat & Sivaji News

Dear Friends,

I am in Muscat for the past 11 years. I recently attended the Vairamuthu show organised by the Muscat Tamil Sangam on 8/12/06 which was essentially a musical show with songs of Vairamuthu rendered by Mano and Sujata. There was a film shown on Vairamuthu's life and climb to success. This film ended with a Sivaji still of Annan(in the blue dress). The corresponding narration was  QUOTE : " Vairamuthu has been chosen as the song writer of the magnum opus Sivaji which will be released soon"

Vairamuthu in his speech talked about his entry to films, his association with Barathiraja, Illayaraja, MSV, KB, Maniratnam, Kamal and at last about Annan in Sivaji. He was very emotional and with a distinct loud and confident voice said QUOTE : " Sivaji will create history in Tamil cinema with regards to quality, collections and substance. Sivaji will be the greatest achievement for superstar Rajini and will be talked by people till Tamil cinema exists" UNQUOTE. He went on to narrate that QUOTE : "director Shankar asked for a love song and after several revisions spread over 2 months, the song was ready. The shoot was in Hyd. in a specially erected set of mirrors costing 2.5 crores. After the shoot was completed, Shankar called vairamuthu and requested him to change the song as the song lyrics did not match the mirror set erected. Vairamuthu rewote the song and the song was reshot. Such is the committment and detail to which Director Shankar is working for this movie. He asked the crowd to listen to this song after the audio release and confidently declared that this song will conquer each and every music lover in the world" UNQUOTE

Friends, as usual at every mention of our Annan's name and his stills, the crowd was in raptures and needless to say, I was on cloud nine. As regards the songs, the song "Kick Yerrudhe" and 2 other Annan's songs created the magic and the crowd whistled, danced and enjoyed thoroughly. I can clearly see the fans having great expectations and so eagerly awaiting the release of Sivaji.

After the show, I was wondering (as I have been wondering for the past 21 years) what is magic in Annan's name that a mere mention of it,  that too miles away from India sends a feeling of confidence, thrill, love and affection in the hearts of the fans. Perhaps it is because "Avan perukkule kaantham undu da". Long live Rajini and Best wishes to him on his B'day tommorrow. Best wishes to all the fans. Have a nice day and let us all pray for his good health and happiness tommorrow. Bangalore fans, last year my mandram celebrated Annan's B'day in style at Seshadripuram. I have the CD with me. Check out what they are upto this year. Contact K. Venkatesh on 009180- 25923310 and refer my name. You will also be surprised with the photo collections available with him on celebrations for Annan's movies dating back to 1980's. Hope this message and details are pleasant reading on the eve of Annan's B'day.

Love and Regards

Rahman completes recording for Sivaji

A R Rahman is a relieved man now, for he has completed recording all the six songs for Rajinikanth’s magnum opus Sivaji.

Directed by Shankar and produced by AVM, the movie has generated lots of hype and curiosity among millions of Rajinikanth fans.

A thrilled Rahman says that the music of Sivaji would live up to all expectations and would be different from his earlier works.

Rahman, who stormed into the Indian film music with his debut film Roja, bagging the national award, has a word of advice for the up and coming music directors.

He says, “I think it is important for a composer to have his own identity,” he said.

Looking back at his career, Rahman says, “People remembered me more for my rhythm-driven songs, than my melodious numbers. But things have changed since Lagaan.”

On the criticisms against him that he takes a long time to complete composing, Rahman says, “I take all criticism objectively and believe in elevating the tastes of the listener.”

Sivaji is the cynosure at IFFI, Goa

The International Film Festival of India came to a close at Goa on Sunday.

As a festival, it was a grand success. Many wonderful foreign films were screened.

Apart from providing an opportunity for showcasing various talents, the film festivals are also becoming a spot for making business, especially by foreign buyers.

International buyers were at Goa in big numbers, to pick up Indian films.

Among the films, the most takers were for the AVM-produced Sivaji starring Rajinikanth.

All through the festival, the talk was on Sivaji. Most foreign buyers were keen on buying Sivaji.

In fact, it was Rajinikanth’s Chandramukhi which had opened new floodgates in terms of foreign market.

Chandramukhi was a big hit in South Africa. Apart from that it was a big success in hitherto unexpected places (for Tamil movies) like Germany.

So Rajini seems to be creating records after records.

Sivaji Shooting Tidbits

Friends,

Now that I am back to normal (after the darshan of and eye-to-eye
salute with The Super Star), let me share some of the tidbits at
Sivaji shooting spot in Big Bazaar showroom in Bangalore.

Apart from Super Star, actors Vivek and Vinu Chakravarthi also
participated in the shooting.

Vinu Chakravarthi was in pure white dhoti and shirt (I think his
role is a politician) and 6 or 7 similarly dressed people were also
with him for the scene. I gathered that some of these people were
selected from the crowd itself (only middle aged people) before the
shooting started in the morning.

The shooting happened in the ground floor area where some people/
actors were posing as customers and they were told to look at the
displays whenever camera was running.

The shopping area at the ground floor has been converted as "SIVAJI
MALL" with price tags/labels displaying the words "SIVAJI'S" along
with the price of the items.

SS was looking impeccable in a blue/bluish grey business suit. His
wig was similar to the one he is wearing in the earlier Sivaji still
in which he will be sitting in a chair wearing yellow shirt/coat.

SS also had the small mush just below the middle of his lower lips
(a la Amir Khan in Dil Chhata Hai).

Vivek was in carduroys with a pull over coat or something.

All the employees of Big Bazaar were of course there in their
uniforms to lend authenticity to the scenes.

Director Shankar was in jeans and a blue shirt and was a busy but a
tired man.

The one person who was conspicuous by his absense was cameraman
K.V.Anand, whom I could not see at all.

They were taking Scene No 67. I felt it must be a lighter scene
where Vinu & his cohorts come to Sivaji's Mall and argue with SS &
Vivek over the low-priced goods he is offering to public. Of
course, one could not make a head or tail of it, just by watching
the shoot. We may not even know if that shot will appear in the
movie ultimately.

I would have spent about an hour at the shooting spot. For most
of the time I spent there, I was just observing SS and savouring
every moment of it.

Even as he was sitting in a chair and talking to people nearby, his
body language could inspire an onlooker. The way he moves/rolls
both his hands while talking, the way he keeps changing his leg
postures, everything I was simply observing and savouring. He has
got something - a special charm - in his eyes and when he sees you,
you are bound to like him.

In between shots, he was conversing with Vivek - may be they were
discussing about the next shot/scene or may be the discussion was
about SS' participation in Vivek's "Solli Adippen" movie's
ensuing cassette release function - I don't know.

Slowly, some of the onlookers crept near SS and one of them
requested for his autograph and got it too. Then, immediately many
people simultaneously rushed towards SS which made the security
guards to disperse them. Seeing the melee, SS stopped signing the
autographs and moved away with Vivek.

After some time, SS took one of the kids who was there and kept him
on his lap for a few minutes. You should have seen the kid's
mother's face which was glowing with a sense of achievement. I too
tried to get near SS and wanted to congratulate him on his becoming
a grand father and if possible to get an autograph but, alas, I
could not do it, as just then director Shankar called for the shot
and all of us were asked to move out of the camera range.

Shankar, the director, seems to be a cool person. Of course, he was
extremely busy and looked very tired at that time of day. He and SS
were sharing some meaningful smiles after discussing the scene.

Shankar politely asked for re-takes four times with Vinu
Chakravarthy and SS. They didn't make any fuss about it and were
game for it till it came to Shankar's satisfaction. After the shot
was completed correctly, Shankar thanked them.

In between the change in scene, I met Shankar and congratulated him
for his movies. He thanked me. Then, I asked him the ubiquetous
question which is in the mind of every Rajini fan: "Will Sivaji
come to theatres on April 14, 2007?"

What do you think he would have told me? Can you guess?

I will tell you Shankar's answer in my next mail.

With Luv,

Arun

Wow! I saw Thalaivar in Sivaji shooting today

Friends,

Today Sivaji movie shooting happened inside Big Bazaar show room
in Banashankari 3rd Stage in Bangalore.  Today morning around 11 AM
I went there with my friend.  Big Bazaar people had downed the main
entrance shutters as the show room was closed for public at that
time because of the shooting.  But one could see the generator vans,
which are used for shooting purposes, standing outside the
showroom.  Of course, a crowd of 100-odd people were standing on the
opposite platform controlled by traffic cops.

As luck would have it, we somehow managed to find our way inside the
show room in spite of the tight security, entry pass, etc.  Once
inside the show room where shooting was happening with many people
milling around, I saw a person who looked almost like a younger
Rajini.  At first I assumed he must be the dupe for Thalaivar.  But
on a second glance, I realised my mistake.  What a fool I was!  Whom
I was thinking as a young Rajini look-alike was in fact The Super
Star himself.

WOW Friends, Thalaivar was looking really stunning today at the
Sivaji shooting.  He simply did not look like his age at all.  He
was looking so young and lean that nobody could imagine that he has
already become a grand father.

As director Shankar was preparing for the shot, Thalaivar was
sitting in a chair with comedian Vivek and another person and
talking.  I was standing with the onlookers about 5 or 6 feet from
Thalaivar.  When Thalaivar turned his gaze towards where I was
standing, I smiled at him and by impulse gave him a Padayappa-like
salute.  Immediately, Thalaivar's face was lit up & he too smiled
back and saluted at me.  What a moment in my life.

Even in such a busy shooting schedule and amidst work tensions,
Thalaivar never forgets to acknowledge the ordinary fans' simple
wishes.  And his mere smile itself is enough for me for the next 10
years to cherish.  But he also gave me a bonus in the form of a
salute.  I am blessed.  My day was made then and there.

Long Live Rajini.  Let God Shower him with Peace of Mind and
Happiness.

I just wanted to share my happiness with you all.  Thanks.

With Luv,

Arun
