"Sivaji" to be released on Tamil New Year's day

The production team of Rajnikant's next movie `Sivaji' has announced that the film will be released by Tamil New Year's Day.

Director Shankar, who is working with Rajnikant for the first time, is busy with post-production work. A.R. Rahman is occupied with the final mixing of songs.
`Sivaji' is production house AVM's 168th film and its ninth film featuring the super star.
Actor Suman plays the villain.
One song in the film is significantly different. Moving away from the normal method of shooting the sequence and then re-recording the music score, it combines a song and fight sequence. The team first shot the stunt sequence (using stunt artists), directed by stunt master Peter Hein.
It was then edited and processed. A.R. Rahman composed the background score for the sequence. Later, the scene was re-shot with Rajnikanth doing the `real stuff'.

The film's audio CD and cassettes will be released by mid-March. National award winner K.V. Anand handles the camera. M. Saravanan and M.S. Guhan are the producers. Director S.P. Muthuraman is joint producer. Vaalee, Na.Muthu Kumar and Pa.Vijay have written a song each while Vairamuthu has penned two songs.
